Cox Communications will award $25,000 total in grants to three non-profit organizations in Roanoke through the Cox Charities program.? Cox Charities provides funding to non-profit groups that support youth, education and technology within Cox Virginia communities.?

?We are thrilled to recognize the hard work of such outstanding organizations,? said Kim Stanley, Vice President of Operations for Cox Roanoke. ?Our judging panel had to make difficult decisions in choosing the winners, but I?m confident that these groups will continue to support the health and vitality of our community through their youth, education, and technology programming, which Cox cares so deeply about.? We?re very pleased to be awarding each of them a grant.?

Winning organizations include:
?
- Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Virginia. $10,000 was awarded to fund academic achievements at the Roanoke Academy of Math and Science Club. The Boys & Girls Club offers an after school and summer program that promotes and enhances the development of young people. Through the enhancement of ?Power Hour? students will receive homework assistance and participate in high yield learning activities.?
- Greenvale School. $10,000 was awarded to fund affordable early childhood education. scholarships to enable children who are at-risk for academic delays to receive the educational foundation they need to enter kindergarten prepared to learn. The school offers high quality, developmentally appropriate child care services for children of working parents, according to?each family's?ability to pay.
- Community Youth Program at St. John?s Episcopal Church. $5,000 was awarded to fund the Afterschool Enrichment Series which will provide students with enriching opportunities to explore literacy, mathematics, science, and technology. This organization serves low income Roanoke City students who meet one or more risk factors.?

The grants awarded are to these non-profit organizations through a statewide initiative.??Across all three markets in?Virginia, Cox is donating a total of $140,000 to non-profit organizations.?
